Our Story In a Nutshell

In 2003 , we began our labor of love and started to restore our CSY 44 sailboat, which we named Freedom. After 5 1/2 years of pure sweat, (Florida in July in a t-vac suit and full mask)some tears, endless reading and lots of leaps of faith, restoration was completed in January 2009. The rest of the story is unraveling as we learn to become the sailors we have always read about. Their inspiration has always lead us to new places...the real reson we started this adventure to begin with. We left from St. Petersburg, Florida in January 2009, sailed to Longboat key, then Useppa, St. James City, Cape Coral, Marathon, Rodriguez Key, Miami, then onto the Bahamas. In the Bahamas we sailed to Norman's Key, Shroud, Hawksbill, Warderick Wells, Black Point, Staniel Key, Spanish wells, Eleuthera, Little Harbor, Marsh harbor and then over to Beaufort North Carolina...up the ICW to Norfolk and finally we ended up in the Chesapeake Bay.

Farming in Santa Fe......

Here we are land cruising in Santa Fe...pretty cool. Visiting the in-laws...having a great time! We went to the most amazing Farmers Market I have ever been to. There were at least 40-50 vendors, all with locally grown food products. From veggies to goat cheese to gorgeous rustic breads....See pics. One of the coolest things is that the wild lavender is in bloom all over the city...as you walk through the market the lavender permeates the air...lavender honey, lavender goat cheese, lavender satchets, lavender body lotion...if it can be made with lavender they have it. I also checked out all the chili pepper dries spices...green and red, hot or mild they have it here. The thing is that when they say mild heat, they mean hot....no wussies here. We also checked out the area os the city known as "Canyon Road"...The area is full of the most beautiful galleries and artwork I have ever seen. The artwork is Indian, Mexican, contemporary and even a galley focused on fantasy art...From $200 to $200,000...One really cool gallery had fountains inside the galley with beautiful roses and goldfish...yeas goldfish..See pics.
